The Medical Center MARTA station, as the name suggests, is located in one of Atlanta’s major medical centers near I-285 on the north edge of the city. Several hospitals and medical offices are around the station — and not a great deal else. It isn’t a place to stroll and see the sights, rather the area around the station is good for hospital visitors, medical employees and those going to doctor appointments. A parking area is also available for area residents or visitors who wish to park and ride the train to destinations including Buckhead, Midtown and Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
On the red line, the station is only served by northbound North Springs trains and red line southbound trains. The tracks are one level below ground, and passengers getting off the train here can choose from any stairway, escalator or elevator to reach the main concourse level above the tracks. There are two ways to exit the station from the concourse. See below for the destinations near each exit to plan your commute. Note that either exit provides easy access to the bus routes and area shuttles.
Parking Exit
In the rear of the station is an exit pointing to “Parking at Deck Level One”. Use this exit for easiest access to:
- Buses
- Perimeter Shuttles
- St. Joseph’s Hospital
- Passenger pick up/drop off area
- MARTA parking in the lower level of the St. Joseph parking deck
Peachtree Dunwoody Road Exit
The main exit directly out to the street is marked Peachtree Dunwoody Road. Use this exit for all other area destinations including:
- Buses
- Perimeter Shuttles

- Chamberlain College of Nursing
- Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite
- Westin Atlanta Perimeter North Hotel
- Hyatt Atlanta Perimeter at Villa Christina
