The first station outside of I-285 on the red line, the Dunwoody MARTA station is next to Perimeter Mall and other commercial and retail centers. Free daily parking and long-term parking provide options for commuters, and area shuttles travel to office parks.
One of the first things that is noticeable about the station is that it is tall. About four stories high, there’s a lot vertical movement getting to and from the station’s three exits, which provide access to Hammond Drive, the parking garage, buses and Perimeter Mall. Under the train platform is the main concourse level where the fare gates are located, and about two levels below that is street level. Read on to see how to best navigate the station.
Perimeter Mall Exit
After exiting the fare gates, keep to the right for a corridor that leads down to street level near the Perimeter Mall parking garage. There is a designated sidewalk for pedestrians though the parking area, which leads to Macy’s. This exit via the mall parking lot also provides easiest access to:
- Barnes and Noble
- Container Store
- Perimeter Place
- Le Méridien Atlanta Perimeter Hotel
Parking Garage Exit
Across from the fare gates is an exit to the parking garage. Local shuttles pick up in passengers here on the first level, or take the stairs or elevator down to the first level for street access to Hammond Drive. This exit provides quick access to the shopping center across from the mall that has Old Navy, Best Buy and Marshalls stores. Across the street is also the Marriott Perimeter Center where you’ll find Hertz Rent-a-Car.
To Buses
A few stories directly below the train platform is the bus bay, located within the station, so don’t exit the first set of fare gates. Three buses are located here: bus 5 (Hammond Drive to Roswell Road southbound to Buckhead) bus 87 (Hammond Drive to Roswell Road northbound to Roswell) and bus 150 (travels to area hotels and offices around the mall then to Mt. Vernon Road).
