The Brookhaven MARTA station is just northeast of Lenox Square Mall in the newly formed city of Brookhaven. The area is surprisingly walkable once you navigate away from busy Peachtree Road in front of the station, with many restaurants and housing options nearby. Plus, there are plans to convert the station’s large parking lot into a mixed-use development, which will provide even more destinations in walking distance.
As one of easier MARTA stations to navigate, the Brookhaven station is elevated with an open-air train platform that can’t get any closer to the neighboring Waffle House. All exits off the platform go to street level where there’s a long and narrow concourse with vending machines. There are two ways to leave the station from there, either to the buses (view connecting bus routes) or to the street.
Street Exit
Immediately in front of the station at the street exit you’ll find:
- Small daily parking lot
- Zipcars
- Taxi stands
- Long-term parking lot
Or turn left in front of the station and walk down the stairs and into the tunnel for easiest access to:
- Large daily parking lot (enter the by lot by car via Dresden Drive or N. Druid Hills Road to Apple Valley Road)
- Fernwood Park
- Brookhaven Beer Fest
- Rosewood Brookhaven
- @1377 Apartments
If you turn right in front of the station instead, you’ll reach Dresden Drive at Peachtree Street. Walk in this direction for the following destinations:
- Restaurants
- Brookhaven Village (right on Dresden Drive)
- Brookhaven Park
- Town Brookhaven
- Extended Stay America
- Cherokee Plaza/Kroger
- Post Glen
- Post Brookhaven
- Oglethorpe University (also via bus 25 at the station)
For those traveling to the airport, commute time is 36 minutes on the southbound train. If you are traveling to the station, be sure to board a gold-line train marked “Doraville.”
