How to Ride the Atlanta Streetcar

The Atlanta Streetcar operates in a 2.7-mile loop in downtown Atlanta with a connection to the Peachtree Center MARTA station. The streetcar has a separate $1 fare (no free transfers from MARTA buses or rail) and 12 stops near Atlanta attractions, nightlife and restaurants. See below for basic instructions on how to ride.

1. Pick a Stop

View the Atlanta Streetcar map to find out where you can board. Major stops include at the Peachtree Center MARTA station, next to Centennial Olympic Park and SkyView, Woodruff Park on Park Place, Sweet Auburn Curb Market and at the Martin Luther King Jr. Historic Site.

2. Buy Fare

You can now purchase Atlanta Streetcar fare with your phone via the ATL Streetcar app for Android and iPhones. Otherwise, vending machines are available at all stops, including cash machines at Woodruff, Centennial Olympic Park, Park Place and King Center District locations. Choose from a one-way ($1) or daily pass ($3) at vending machines, or use the app for weekly, monthly and five-day visitor passes. Hold on to your receipt or be ready to show your ticket via the app when asked. Children under 46 inches are free with a paying adult.

3. Ride

The streetcar doors automatically open at all stops. Merely get on, find a seat and ride. Have your ticket or app proof of purchase available for staff as they circle through the streetcars. There is no fare box or fare scanner. When you arrive at your destination, merely get off the streetcar when the doors open.
