If you’re planning on going to the game or another event at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, we recommend booking a hotel in walking distance for an easy commute. Luckily there are a few hotels to choose from. Keep in mind that you can also take a MARTA train from the airport to reach downtown Atlanta in only 17 minutes where you’ll find these accommodations.
Note: All these hotels are likely sold out for Super Bowl weekend.
The 4-star Omni Hotel is the closest hotel to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. It’s connected to the CNN Center, which has a food court with Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts. The hotel is also a short walk away from the Dome/GWCC/CNN MARTA station on the blue and green rail lines. Hotel amenities include an outdoor heated pool, fitness center and spa. Plus, Centennial Olympic Park and the College Football Hall of Fame are next door. Walking time to the stadium is 8 minutes.
Embassy Suites Centennial Olympic Park
Embassy Suites Centennial Olympic Park overlooks the park of the same name and features Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and Starbucks on the main level. Two-room suites are available, and perks include free breakfast, airport shuttle and complimentary drinks and snacks at this 3.5 star hotel. Walking time to the stadium is 10 minutes and you can also walk to the hotel from a MARTA train station (view directions).
A boutique hotel in a historic downtown building, the Glenn Hotel features a rooftop bar (SkyLounge), free WiFi and a fitness room that are a 10-minute walk away from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium (use Centennial Olympic Park Drive for the shortest walk). The hotel is also close to the CNN Center, SkyView Ferris wheel and Centennial Olympic Park. View walking directions from MARTA if you are commuting from the airport.
Clarion Inn & Suites Atlanta Downtown
In the Castleberry Hill neighborhood south of the stadium, Clarion Inn & Suites is further away from downtown attractions, but you can still walk to the stadium in about 12 minutes. A few local restaurants and shops are nearby, and the 2.5 star hotel has free WiFi, free hot breakfast, fitness center and free parking. Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta Downtown
The 3.5 star Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Atlanta is near the Georgia Aquarium, College Football Hall of Fame and Centennial Olympic Park. Walking time to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium is 13 minutes through a touristy area. While at the hotel, enjoy the indoor and outdoor pool (the outdoor one overlooks the stadium), fitness center and choice of rooms or suites. Recently remodeled, the AC Hotel (a Marriott property) is also just 13 minutes away from the stadium on foot. As a bonus, you can use the direct red or gold rail line from the airport to reach the 3-star hotel, which has free WiFi, outdoor pool and fitness center. Nearby attractions include SkyView, Centennial Olympic Park, World of Coca-Cola and the Georgia Aquarium. The Atlanta Streetcar also stops near the hotel as a transportation option to reach the Martin Luther King Jr. Historic Site.
Home2 Suites by Hilton in downtown Atlanta is a 2.5-star hotel tucked away in the historic Fairlie-Popular District. It’s a short walk to the Hudson Grille sports bar and the rooftop bar at the Glenn Hotel, or reach the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in 14 minutes. Hotel amenities include free breakfast, rooftop patio and onsite convenience store.
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Atlanta Downtown
In between Peachtree Center and Centennial Olympic Park, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites is a 15-minute walk away from the stadium. Hotel perks include free breakfast, free WiFi and 24-hour fitness center. The 2.5 star hotel is in a historic building that is near a MARTA station (view directions), and the train commute is direct to and from the airport.
Hampton Inn and Suites Atlanta Downtown
The 2.5 star Hampton Inn and Suites in downtown Atlanta is in a historic building like several of the above hotels. There’s free WiFi and coffee/tea in the common area. Walk to the stadium in 15 minutes or take a shorter stroll to the nearby Peachtree Center where there are many restaurants, bars and a train station (view MARTA directions to the hotel).
Near the Peachtree Center MARTA station and Atlanta Streetcar, the American Hotel is also a 15-minute walk away from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. ATL Cruzers Atlanta tours depart from the hotel, and amenities include outdoor pool, free WiFi and choice of rooms or suites. This 3-star hotel is also an easy train commute from the airport.
Westin Peachtree Plaza
Last but not least, the Westin Peachtree Plaza is a large hotel next to the Peachtree Center MARTA station. It’s a very easy train ride to and from the airport, and walking to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium from the hotel’s rear entrance (to Ted Turner Drive) is about 16 minutes. Sun Dial is a restaurant, lounge and viewing area on the top floors of the hotel with a 360-degree view of the city. Other amenities at this 4-star hotel include an indoor pool and 24-hour fitness center.
All downtown hotels booked? We also recommend staying at a hotel near MARTA in Midtown, Buckhead or Decatur for an easy train commute to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. One good option is the Courtyard Marriott Downtown Decatur, which is in a walkable neighborhood with many great restaurants and bars. Plus, the nearby Decatur MARTA station provides direct rail service to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. A train transfer is needed if you stay in Midtown or Buckhead.
