MARTA hasn’t released the official holiday schedule for 2017 at this time. Until that information is provided, here is a list of holidays that usually have special service hours. Buses always operate on Saturday or Sunday schedules on observed holidays and train frequency is every 20 minutes (unless otherwise noted).

Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Sunday schedules with a rail start time of 4:45 a.m.

Memorial Day

On Monday of Memorial Day weekend, MARTA typically is on a Sunday schedule with rail service start time of 6 a.m.

July 4th

Rail service starts early to accommodate the Peachtree Road Race runners (4:45 a.m.) and extra trains in the evening for firework crowds.

Labor Day

Sunday service on Labor Day with a rail start time of 6 a.m.


Sunday schedule on Thanksgiving Day with rail service typically starting at 4:45 a.m. to accommodate the Thanksgiving half-marathon runners.

Day After Thanksgiving

Saturday schedules for bus and rail, 6 a.m. train service start

Christmas Eve

Saturday schedule, rail start at 6 a.m.

Christmas Day

Sunday schedule, rail start at 6 a.m.

Day After Christmas

Sunday schedule, rail start at 6 a.m.

New Year’s Eve

Weekday rail service with extra trains and frequency, buses on Saturday schedule
