Atlanta’s Black History Month Parade takes place on in downtown Atlanta near several MARTA rail stations and bus routes. This family-friendly event starts at Hurt Park (100 Edgewood Avenue) and travels to Centennial Olympic Park via Marietta Street.
NOTE: No parade in 2020
For the shortest/easiest walk to view the parade, take any train to the Five Points MARTA station and follow signs to the Broad Street Plaza exit near the RideStore. Walk through the plaza to Marietta Street to view the parade.
Or travel to the GWCC/CNN MARTA station on the blue and green line for a pleasant 10-minute walk to view the parade next to Centennial Olympic Park. Follow signs pointing to State Farm Arena to exit the station and at street level turn left or right to walk around the arena and CNN Center in order to reach Marietta Street.
If you want to reach the start of the parade, travel to the Georgia State MARTA station and walk about 9 minutes (view walking map).
The following bus routes all travel to the Five Points station, which is less than a block away from the parade route. Be sure to check the itsmarta.com website on the day before or day of the parade to check on bus reroutes.
