It’s time for another round of MARTA service changes. Starting Dec. 10, 2016, a large number of routes will have small schedule adjustments to improve on-time performance and a few larger changes are planned. See below for new service highlights and don’t forget to attend public meetings to provide feedback on future route adjustments.
Weekday Gold and Blue Line Hours
The gold line will extend service hours slightly on weekdays with the last train departing the Doraville MARTA station at 1:21 a.m.
Additionally, the last weekday train at H.E. Holmes will depart at 1:26 a.m. and the last weekday train from Indian Creek will depart at 1:14 a.m.
Bus 2 Stops Decatur Service
The popular bus 2 route that has historically traveled on Ponce de Leon Avenue to Decatur will have a new terminus at the East Lake MARTA station. Frequency will also improve. For service to downtown Decatur, use the blue rail line or bike/walk from East Lake if you ride the bus via The Path. Related, the companion bus 102 route will shift more from Ponce de Leon Avenue to North Avenue from the North Avenue MARTA station to Boulevard.
New Bus Service to Lenox
Bus 16, which departs from the Five Points MARTA station and travels to the Carter Center, Poncey Highland, Virginia Highland and Morningside will travel to the Lenox MARTA station starting Dec. 10. New streets with service include Chantilly Drive and Lenox Road. The route will also change names to reflect the new terminus.
New Route in South Dekalb
Bus 823 joins the MARTA fleet on Dec. 10 with service from the Decatur MARTA station to Belvedere Lane in South Dekalb. This route replaces the southern segment of bus 123 and will operate every hour. The bus 123 route will extend to the East Lake MARTA station and still travel to the Decatur MARTA station, Dekalb Medical Center and North Dekalb Mall.
More Service to Georgia State Perimeter College
The Decatur campus of Georgia State Perimeter College will have new service via bus 114 (the college is the new end-of-the-line). Connect with the bus at the Avondale MARTA station for a total trip time of about 30 minutes. Bus 15 (Decatur station) and bus 34 (Inman Park station) also travel to the college.
