If you love live music, then you’ll love these MARTA stations. See the list below for the top music venues near transit in Atlanta for a night out. Note that rail service ends just after 1 a.m., so plan to be back at MARTA in enough time or use an alternate way home.
Although Decatur only has one major music venue, it’s a venue worth a visit. Eddie’s Attic is next to the Decatur MARTA station and features acoustic shows from emerging and known musicians. A songwriter’s open mic is a weekly Monday event or for a more international vibe, walk down the street to Marlay House for live Irish music on Tuesdays.
4. Arts Center
The Loft, Vinyl and Center Stage are all less than a 10-minute walk from the Arts Center MARTA station for rock and indie bands. If classical is more your style, next to the station is Atlanta Symphony Hall in the Woodruff Arts Center or check out the High Museum of Art on the third Friday of the month for live music in the museum.
3. Peachtree Center
Just off of Peachtree Street in the heart of downtown Atlanta, Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint has shows seven days a week including jazz, blues, soul and R&B. Weekends you can also often catch live piano or jazz at Ray’s in the City while dining. Rockers can choose from casual performances at the Hard Rock Cafe or larger concerts at The Tabernacle.
2. North Avenue
Enjoy a wide variety of music entertainment options near the North Avenue MARTA station. Publik Draft House often has live rock/pop music on the weekends. For intimate concerts and musicals, check out the shows at the historic Fox Theatre or get up close and personal with performances at the Apache Cafe.
1. Dome Station
The obvious station for concerts and live music, the GWCC/Dome/Philips Arena/CNN station is next to two of Atlanta’s largest music venues: Georgia Dome and Philips Arena. The Tabernacle is also a short walk up the street or attend one of the several music festivals in nearby Centennial Olympic Park. View directions and upcoming events:
