The High Museum of Art is Atlanta’s major art museum next to the Arts Center MARTA station on the red/gold line. A variety of visual art exhibitions change throughout the year, and many special events include family programs, museum tours, summer camps and Friday night live music.
All red and gold line trains stop at the Arts Center MARTA station. Upon arrival, follow the signs pointing to Arts Center Way to exit, which requires going up three levels (avoid exiting via West Peachtree Street). Both escalators and elevators are available. After leaving the station the High is just across the street. There is a stairway and elevator that takes you up to the main courtyard where you’ll find the entrance to the museum as well as the entrance to the Woodruff Arts Center.
Note: If you are commuting from the blue or green line, travel to the Five Points MARTA station and transfer to the first northbound train. Bus 110 also stops in front of the museum on Peachtree Street. You can get on the bus at any point on Peachtree Street or Peachtree Road from Five Points to Lenox Square Mall.
Admission is free to Fulton County residents on the first Saturday of each month.
