MARTA to the Yaarab Shrine Temple

The Yaarab Shrine Temple at 400 Ponce de Leon Avenue is an event space and home to the Atlanta Rollergirls near the North Avenue MARTA station. The building itself is very ornate, and is also used by the Shriners.

There are two ways to reach the temple on MARTA:

Take the North Avenue/West Peachtree Street exit out of the North Avenue MARTA station (avoid the Fox Theatre exit). At street level, turn right on West Peachtree Street and right again at the next intersection on Ponce de Leon Avenue. The venue is about four blocks away (see walking map). Total walking time is about 17 minutes, and is best to avoid walking at night, especially if you are alone.

Two MARTA buses, bus 2 and bus 102, conveniently depart from the North Avenue station and stop outside the temple. It is free to transfer to the bus from the train and the ride is very short. Use the North Avenue/West Peachtree Street exit again, but after walking through the fare gate, turn left and go up the escalator/stairs to the bus bay. Once on the bus, signal to exit after going through the stoplight at Durant Place (a large concrete building on a hill will be on the right). There’s also a bend in the road at that point.

You can also board bus 2 at the Decatur MARTA station or bus 102 at the Candler Park MARTA station. Bus 102 additionally services Little 5 Points and Poncey Highland via Moreland Avenue and N. Highland Avenue.

For real-time bus arrivals, use the OneBusAway website or app. The MARTA on the Go app has printed schedules, or look up route information online.
