Buford Highway is one of Atlanta’s major roads full of international restaurants, markets and shopping centers. It stretches from Buckhead to Buford, Georgia, with MARTA bus 39 servicing part of the highway from its start in the city to I-285.
You can walk to Buford Highway from the Doraville MARTA station — it’s just two blocks east of the station. Or board bus 39 at the Doraville or Lindbergh Center MARTA station.
If you need to travel north on Buford Highway past I-285, taxis are usually available outside the Doraville station or request a Lyft or Uber car there.
Insider Tips
- Use caution when walking in the area. There are many lanes of traffic and the area is known for being one of the most dangerous for pedestrians. Be sure to cross the street at a crosswalk and at a stoplight.
- Bus 39 is one of the more frequent routes in the city, with service about every 15 minutes or less.
