The Atlanta World Kite Festival promotes family fun each year with kite flying in Piedmont Park. If you’ve never flown a kite before, you can learn here. The festival also includes a kid zone, pumpkin decorating area, costume contest, music, food and artist market.
The closest MARTA station to the festival is the Midtown MARTA station on the red/gold rail line. From the main station exit, follow the signs to 10th Street, turn right on 10th and walk just over three blocks to the meadow area of the park (approximately 15 minutes). Or board bus 36 or bus 109 at the Midtown station for a free ride if transferring from the train.
