MARTA to Cumming

Cumming is about 40 miles north of downtown Atlanta near Lake Lanier. It is not near a MARTA station, but there is commuter bus service to the area from MARTA rail. Explore transit options to and from Cumming below.

Tip: If your trip starts in Cumming, you need to pay the driver exact cash to ride the bus or have cash value or a GRTA Xpress fare pass on a Breeze Card in order to travel to Atlanta. GRTA Xpress 400

GRTA Xpress route 400 operates Monday-Friday to and from the Cumming Park and Ride lot at 163 North Old Atlanta Road, Cumming, 30040. It stops at or near MARTA stations including North Avenue, Peachtree Center and Five Points. Commute time is over an hour.

GRTA Xpress 401

GRTA Xpress route 401 is also Monday-Friday and travels between the Cumming Park and Ride and the Medical Center, Dunwoody and Sandy Springs MARTA stations on the red line. Commute time is 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Rental Car

If you’re arriving at the Atlanta airport but don’t want drive through the city to reach Cumming, take a red line train to the Dunwoody MARTA station to rent a car at Hertz in the nearby Marriott Perimeter Center. You can also rent a car at the airport via the Skytrain.
