MARTA to Poncey Highland

Poncey Highland is hip Atlanta neighborhood with restaurants, shops and nightlife venues. Attractions include the Highland Inn and Highland Inn Ballroom, Plaza Theater, Manuel’s Tavern, MJQ, Clermont Lounge and the Majestic Diner. A variety of housing options, including single-family houses from the 1920s, historic lofts and apartment buildings, along with a Publix and Kroger, make the neighborhood a walkable place to live.

There are several ways to get to the neighborhood on transit:


Board bus 2 at the North Avenue or Decatur MARTA station. Bus 2 travels down Ponce de Leon, providing easy access to the entire area.  Bus 102 also travels to the neighborhood from the North Avenue or Candler Park stations.

You can also board bus 816 at the Five Points MARTA station or on Peachtree Center Avenue near the Peachtree Center MARTA station to reach the neighborhood and restaurants along N. Highland Avenue.  After the bus passes the Carter Center and turns left on N. Highland Avenue, it will enter the neighborhood.

For the shortest Uber or Lyft commute, connect with a car at the North Avenue or Inman Park MARTA station.

Helpful Tips

  • You can take one bus there and another bus route back if it works better with timing and destination.
  • Walk north on N. Highland Avenue to reach the neighboring Virginia Highland neighborhood for more restaurants and nightlife.
