The Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Christmas Parade takes place in December with floats, giant balloons, marching bands and the arrival of Santa on Peachtree Street. Breakfast with Santa and bleacher seats are also available for a fee.
There are three MARTA stations (all on the red and gold lines) that provide easy access to the parade route:
At 15th Street and West Peachtree Street, the Arts Center MARTA station provides access to the start of the parade at 16th Street. Take the 15th Street exit out of the station and turn left on 15th and walk less than a block to Peachtree Street.
The Midtown MARTA station is on 10th Street near the middle of the parade route. Take the central exit out of the station and turn right on 10th Street and walk less than a block. This route is less hilly than at the Arts Center station.
The parade ends on 5th Street. You can reach this spot by following signs to the Fox Theatre exit at the North Avenue MARTA station. This exit leads to 3rd Street. Turn right on 3rd and left on Peachtree. This station will likely be the least crowded.
If you’re commuting from the east side of Piedmont Park, Virginia Highland, Inman Park or Old Fourth Ward, get on the BeltLine Eastside Trail or The PATH to the BeltLine to Piedmont Park. From there, follow the bike lane on 10th Street to reach Peachtree Street.
- For a hot drink, a Dancing Goats coffee shop is directly across the street from the Midtown MARTA station’s Peachtree Place exit.
- The closest MARTA parking to the parade is at the Lindbergh Center MARTA station on the red/gold line.
- Trains run every 20 minutes on the weekend. Use the MARTA on the Go App or view marta.io for real-time train arrivals to plan your return trip to the station to avoid a long wait.
