The AJC Decatur Book Festival takes place every year over Labor Day weekend in Downtown Decatur. It is an easy commute on MARTA, with most events, including author presentations, taking place above the Decatur MARTA station on the blue line. If you are starting on the red or gold line, transfer at Five Points to the eastbound train platform and board an “Indian Creek” train.
Things to Know
- Trains are typically every 20 minutes on the weekend and on holidays
- Many restaurants are around the station for a quick or more trendy place to eat
- The MARTA stations to each side of Decatur have free daily parking, East Lake and Avondale. Other good stations for parking on the blue line include end of the line stations like Kensington and Indian Creek, or Inman and Candler Park stations.
