Presented by Creative Loafing, the Atlanta Summer Beer Fest takes place in June at the Masquerade Music Park (next to the Masquerade at 695 North Avenue), almost equally distant from the North Avenue and Inman Park MARTA stations. There’s plenty of beer and live music to go around. Tickets are required for the event, with prices higher at the door.
There are several options for getting there on MARTA:
Board bus 2 at either the North Avenue or Decatur MARTA station.
Board bus 102 at the North Avenue or Candler Park station.
Exit either bus at the intersection of Ponce de Leon and Glen Iris Drive. Eats and Ponce City Market will be on the corner. Walk south on Glen Iris (the only direction you can walk) then turn left on North Avenue and walk about a block.
Use promo code MARTAGuide to get $20 off your first ride with Uber, the app that connects you with a driver. For the cheapest commute, get picked up at the North Avenue or Inman Park MARTA station.
Exit at the Inman Park MARTA station and walk or bike to the BeltLine via Edgewood Avenue to Elizabeth Street. Exit the trail at Angier Springs just before the bridge. Turn left on North Avenue to reach the Masquerade. A ramp will be open later in 2014 that will connect the BeltLine directly to the Old Fourth Ward Park next to the Masquerade.
- The Masquerade is across from Ponce City Market, which will have food and shopping options once open.
- Kroger is nearby for food and supplies, and the closest restaurants are 4th and Swift and Gekki Sushi. Dancing Goats coffee is also in walking distance.
- Taking the bus is a great option if you live in Virginia Highland, Poncey Highland, Little 5 Points, Candler Park or Decatur — just connect with the route on Ponce de Leon or N. Highland/Moreland Avenue.
- Be sure to have at least a roundtrip fare on your MARTA card to make your return trip easier. MARTA buses accept cash, but you won’t get a free transfer to the train.
