The Candler Park Fall Fest takes place in Candler Park, a short walk from Edgewood-Candler Park MARTA station. The festival includes a 5K, music/entertainment and an artist market. Biking? Use the Stone Mountain PATH trail if you are commuting from downtown, Old Fourth Ward, Inman Park, Little 5 or Decatur. Or you can take your bike with you on the train.

Note that weekend train frequency is every 20 minutes. Use the MARTA on the Go app for real-time arrivals or view them online via marta.io to avoid a long wait at a rail station.

Rail Directions

  1. Take a blue line train to the Edgewood-Candler Park MARTA station. If your starting station is on the red or gold line, transfer at Five Points to the eastbound platform and get on a train labeled “Indian Creek.”
  2. Follow signs to the North Parking exit after going through the fare gate.
  3. At street level walk east (away from the stoplight) on Dekalb Avenue.
  4. Turn left on Mell Avenue. This street dead ends at the park. Total walking time is about 8 minutes (see map below)

As an alternate, you can also walk to the stoplight near the MARTA station and turn right on Oakdale Road then right again on McLendon Avenue.

Bus Directions

If you are commuting from Midtown, Poncey Highland or Little 5 Points, board bus 102 at the North Avenue MARTA station or along Ponce de Leon, N. Highland or Moreland Avenue to reach the Candler Park station. Kirkwood and South Decatur residents can connect with bus 24 (view route map).

Bus fare is same as rail, $2.50, which you can pay with exact cash or tap your Breeze Card on the bus. The Edgewood-Candler Park station is the last stop on both routes.
