The Apex Museum at 135 Auburn Avenue showcases African-American history just off the Atlanta Streetcar line and near the Peachtree Center MARTA station. The museum has a variety of exhibits and storytelling events.
Take a red or gold line train to Peachtree Center and follow the signs to the Ellis Street/Peachtree Street East exit. At street level, turn left on Peachtree Street and left again at the next block on Auburn Avenue. You can also use the Five Points MARTA station if you are traveling from the blue or green line or are visiting Underground Atlanta, but the walk isn’t as nice.
The Apex Museum is near the Auburn at Piedmont streetcar stop. It is convenient to stop at the museum after visiting the Martin Luther King Jr. Historic District. If you are transferring to the streetcar from MARTA, it is much faster to walk from the Peachtree Center station. View the Atlanta streetcar map to learn more.
