The Atlanta History Center is in Buckhead at 130 West Paces Ferry Road NW, closest to the Buckhead MARTA station on the red rail line. It is the home of the Cyclorama, and the museum also includes a variety of exhibits, gardens, a library and historic homes on display (Swan House and Smith Farm House).

There are several ways to reach the Atlanta History Center on transit:

Train + Lyft/Uber

The quickest commute option is to take a red or gold line train to the Lindbergh Center MARTA station and request a Lyft or Uber car there. The car ride is less than 10 minutes, and you can avoid some of the heavy Buckhead traffic by getting a car at this location.

Bus

A less expensive commute option is to connect with bus 110, which travels along Peachtree Road from the Arts Center to the Buckhead and Brookhaven MARTA stations. You can board the bus at just about any point along Peachtree Road, or for the shortest ride, connect with the bus at the Buckhead MARTA station (Peachtree Road exit).

Once on the bus, tell the bus driver that you’d like to exit at West Paces Ferry Road. After exiting the bus, walk west on West Paces Ferry (toward Whole Foods) about 10 minutes to reach the history center (see bus and walking map).

Walk

Walking time is approximately 26 minutes from the Buckhead station if you prefer to walk.

  1. Take the Peachtree Road exit out of the station and use the first stairway or elevator to reach street level.
  2. Turn right on Peachtree Road
  3. Walk to West Paces Ferry Road and turn right.
