MARTA to the Sweet Auburn Springfest

The Sweet Auburn Springfest is a yearly festival on Auburn Avenue with food and entertainment. The two closest MARTA stations to the event are the Georgia State MARTA station and the King Memorial MARTA station on the blue/green rail line. View transit options below.

Take a blue or green line train to either the Georgia State or King Memorial MARTA stations. Transfer at Five Points to the first eastbound train if your starting point is on the red or gold line.

If you exit at Georgia State, take the Jesse Hill Jr. exit out of the station and turn left. Walk about three blocks to reach Auburn Avenue and turn right.

From the King Memorial station, at street level cross over Decatur Street/Dekalb Avenue in front of the station at the stoplight and walk north on Hilliard Street near the apartment community for also three blocks. Walking time from either station is just under 15 minutes.

Atlanta Streetcar

The Atlanta Streetcar also travels to Springfest. Connect with it outside the Peachtree Center MARTA station. From the train platform, follow the signs to Ellis Street then to Peachtree Street East after exiting the fare gates. At street level, turn left for the first of two streetcar stops. You’ll be on the streetcar longer if you board here.

Or walk less than a block to Auburn Avenue and turn left then right on Park Place for the the streetcar stop next to the round water fountain. At this location, the streetcar goes directly to the festival.

Exit the streetcar at Edgewood at Hilliard stop or King Historic District.

Transfer for free from the train to bus 899 at the North Avenue or King Memorial station.
