MARTA to Amtrak

Atlanta’s Amtrak Station at 1688 Peachtree Street is closest to the Arts Center MARTA station on the red and gold rail lines. The station services the Crescent line, which travels to cities including New Orleans, Washington D.C. and New York City.

Walking Directions

Walking time is about 20 minutes to Amtrak from the Arts Center MARTA station. Follow the signs to the West Peachtree Street exit and turn right on West Peachtree. Walk about three blocks and turn left on Peachtree Street and walk another block to reach the station, which is on the left side of the street (see walking map).

Bus Directions

Bus 110 stops at the Amtrak station and travels to and from the Arts Center, Buckhead and Lenox MARTA stations.

After boarding the bus at one of the rail stations, you can tell the driver you’d like to exit at the Amtrak station if you aren’t sure of the stop. Otherwise, indicate the bus to stop as you pass over the interstate if you are coming from the Arts Center. If coming from Buckhead, or Lenox, indicate a stop just after crossing the stoplight at Deering Road (see area map).

For real-time bus locations and schedules, use the MARTA on the Go app or look up schedules online.

Arriving Passengers

If you are arriving at the Amtrak station, Peachtree Street runs right next to the station. Stand at the closest bus stop along the same side of the street as the station to board bus 110 to the Arts Center station (turn left on Peachtree Street from the front of the station). Or if you cross Peachtree Street, you’ll travel northbound to Buckhead and Lenox Mall, stopping at both the Buckhead and Lenox MARTA stations.

If walking to MARTA, turn right on Peachtree Street, then veer right on West Peachtree Street when the road splits. The station entrance is on West Peachtree Street about three blocks away.

Insider Tips

  • You can pay cash to ride the bus. A one-way fare is $2.50, but does not include a transfer to the train and you need to have exact change. You can purchase a Breeze Card online in advance to save money and receive a free rail transfer.
  • If it is late in the evening or you don’t want to wait for the bus, request a car service such as taxi, Lyft or Uber.
  • Americas Best Value Inn is a short walk away if you need a place to stay overnight. Turn right in front of the station and walk over the interstate bridge.
