The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial and Historic Site is near downtown Atlanta and offers many free programs and tours along with nearby Ebenezer Baptist Church and the home where King was born. The nearest MARTA station to the King Center is the E2 King Memorial Station. You can walk 15-20 minutes to reach the site, though it is still somewhat in a transitional area and best walked during the day time and in a group (see the walking map).
You can also take bus 99 from the King Memorial or North Avenue Station. Plan ahead though because the bus only runs every hour, departing from the King Memorial Station at five past each hour.
The other option is bus 113, which departs from the Inman Park and Arts Center Stations and also goes by the historic site. It is more frequent, but is a longer ride. Get on at the Inman Park Station for a shorter commute.

The N1 Peachtree Center MARTA Station is located in downtown Atlanta near many hotels and the AmericasMart (see area map). The station is famous for having some of the longest escalators in the Southeast, and is the furthest underground out of all the other rail stations.
All trains departing from the airport and all trains going southbound go to the Peachtree Center Station. If you are coming from the east/west rail line, then you must exit at the Five Points Station and transfer to a northbound train.
Because the station sits right along busy Peachtree Street, there are no bus routes that connect to this station and no parking. As one of the most walkable MARTA stations, you can walk to attractions like the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coke and Centennial Olympic Park in addition to many office buildings and Georgia State University.
It takes 17 minutes to get to/from the airport and only 1 minute to the Five Points Station.

The World of Coke one of more popular Atlanta tourist attractions you can get to on MARTA. There are several options to get there:
- Take the train to Peachtree Center and take the Harris Street exit out of the station. Walk north a block to Baker Street then turn left (west) on Baker. The World of Coke is about 4 blocks down.
- Take the train to W1/Dome/GWCC stop. Take the Philip’s Arena exit out of the station and more or less walk straight ahead and through the park.
- Catch bus 97 from the Civic Center Station. This a great route because it will also take you to the Atlanta zoo, so you can hit both attractions on the same bus line.
- Catch bus 113 from Arts Center or Five Points. This bus will get you about a block away from the museum. Route 97, though, will get you closer and probably a little easier to ride.

The East Atlanta neighborhood is not the most convenient to MARTA rail, but there are several bus routes that travel to and from the East Atlanta Village and surrounding areas.
The closest station to East Atlanta is E3 Inman Park/Reynoldstown. Here you can catch several buses that go to the area:
- Bus 34
- Bus 4 (also departs from the Five Points Station)
- Bus 107 (also departs from Indian Creek)
Bus 9 departs from Five Points and also travels down part of Glenwood Avenue and Flatshoals, which are the two main streets in the East Atlanta Village (see area map).

Getting to the Lakewood Amphitheater requires taking a bus. During concert season there is a shuttle you can take from the S4 Lakewood Station on the south line. Make sure you tap your Breeze Card upon exiting the station to get a free transfer. If you don’t, or if you didn’t arrive via the train, then the shuttle costs $2. Shuttles begin running 90 minutes before shows start.
Besides the shuttle, you can also take bus 42 from the Lakewood or Five Points station.

The Midtown MARTA station is located on 10th Street between Peachtree and West Peachtree Street. It provides easy access to Piedmont Park, Georgia Tech, nightclubs and restaurants. Buses that depart this station go to Virginia Highlands and Cumberland Mall. You can also reserve and use a Zip Car at this station.
From Midtown, it takes 4 minutes to get to Five Points and 23 minutes to the airport. All trains leaving from the airport stop at Midtown and all trains running southbound from Midtown also go to the airport.
There are only 14 parking spots, which include kiss and ride spots for dropping off or picking up passengers only. As a result, daily parking is very limited.
For more information, view the street guide to MARTA stations.

The North Springs MARTA station is at the very end of the red/north line. To get there you must be on a train labeled “North Springs”. You can get on a North Springs train at the airport all the way through midtown before 9pm. After 9pm you must take the first available train (should be marked Doraville) to the Lindbergh MARTA station, then exit that train and wait for the North Springs train at Lindbergh.
When traveling via car, the North Springs station has its own exit (5C) off of Georgia 400 (see map). You can only get to the station via the highway. There is free daily parking in large parking garage along with long-term parking for $8/day. Buses that depart from this station go into Alpharetta, Roswell (including the Mansell and Windward Park park and ride) and along Tilly Mill past the Georgia Perimeter College.
Trains depart from North Springs every 20 minutes on the weekend and weekdays after 9pm . The rest of the time the trains depart every 10-15 minutes. It takes 27 minutes to get to Five Points and 43 minutes to the airport. It is best to check the train schedule for departure times if you do plan to take MARTA to the airport.

The Lindbergh MARTA station is on the north/south rail line and is the main transfer point between the two northbound trains, Doraville (yellow) and North Springs (red). All trains departing from the airport and downtown will go to Lindbergh.
After 9pm the North Spring/red line train only travels between North Springs and Lindbergh, so you will have to board a Doraville train and to get to Lindbergh if you are coming from the airport or downtown.
This station also has a free daily parking garage, which is a great place to park if you are going into the city for an event. Just off I-85 and GA 400, the station is near the intersection of Sidney Marcus and Piedmont Avenue (see map). Turn left onto Piedmont Avenue from Sidney Marcus and turn right onto Lindbergh Drive for the parking garage.
