MARTA to the Brookhaven Arts Festival

The Brookhaven Arts Festival takes place every year in October conveniently behind the Brookhaven Station on Apple Valley Road (see area map). The festival includes live music and a children’s area.

Brookhaven is on the gold rail line in the north, so be sure to board a “Doraville” train if you are coming from the city or the airport.  If you are coming from the blue or green rail line, exit at the Five Points Station and follow the signs to the Northbound platform and wait for a Doraville train there.

MARTA to Oglethorpe University

Oglethorpe University is only a mile north of the NE8 Brookhaven station (see area map).  If you are coming from downtown or the airport, you must be on a northbound train marked “Doraville” to get to Brookhaven.  Remember to transfer at Five Points to the northbound platform if you are coming from the east-west rail line.

It is better to take a bus as Peachtree Industrial (the walking route) is a busy road.  You can choose from two buses:

  • Take bus 25 northbound from the NE8 Brookhaven or NE7 Lenox station (be advised there will also be a bus going southbound).  There is a bus stop across the street from the university on Peachtree Road/ Peachtree Industrial Blvd.
  • Bus 341 also goes by the campus on Hermance Drive, and departs from N8 Medical Center and NE8 Brookhaven.

Brookhaven MARTA Station

The Brookhaven MARTA station is located at 4047 Peachtree Road NE, just north of Lenox Square Mall and near Oglethorpe University (see area map).  There are several apartment buildings, condos and retail/grocery stores nearby.

Directions
To get to the Brookhaven Station from the airport, downtown or midtown, you must board a gold line train labeled “Doraville”.   If you are coming from the blue or green rail line, you must exit at Five Points and transfer to a northbound Doraville train to get to Brookhaven.

Parking
The station has a large free daily parking lot in addition to long-term parking for $5/day.

Buses
Buses that depart from the Brookhaven station travel on North Druid Hills, Dresden, Clairemont, Peachtree Industrial, Henderson Mill, Windor Parkway and to Century Center. See the full list of bus routes here.

Commute Time
It takes 36 minutes to get to the airport and 17 minutes to Five Points/downtown.
