Bankhead MARTA Station

Bankhead MARTA Station

The Bankhead MARTA station is at the end of the green rail line on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway (see map). The surrounding area is primarily residential and Proctor Creek is next to the station, which is another, yet rarely used, name for the green line.

To get to the Bankhead MARTA station, board a westbound Bankhead train at the Five Points MARTA station. The Bankhead train is a “short” train, and only travels as far east as the Candler Park MARTA station on weekdays and to the King Memorial on weekends. The Ashby MARTA station is the last transfer point to a Bankhead train.

Airport MARTA Station

Airport MARTA Station

The Airport MARTA Station is located at the end of the red and gold rail lines, and is directly connected to the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport Domestic Terminal.

Almost all southbound trains travel to the station. The only exception is in the evening after 9 p.m. If you are departing from the North Springs, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Medical Center or Buckhead MARTA stations, the southbound train only travels as far as the Lindbergh Center station. Passengers have to wait there for the next southbound train.

If you are departing from a station on the blue or green rail line, travel to the Five Points station and follow the signs to the southbound train platform.

The Dome/GWCC/Philips Arena/CNN Center MARTA station is located at 100 Centennial Olympic Park Drive in downtown Atlanta on the blue and green rail lines.

The Sandy Springs MARTA station is on the north, red rail line, just off I-285 and Ga. 400 at 1101 Mt. Vernon Highway. An underground station, it is located below a suburban commercial area and provides access to several office buildings and retail stores.

If you are coming from the airport, be sure you are on a train labeled “North Springs” in order to get to this station. If traveling after 9 p.m., you must go to the Lindbergh Center station on the first available northbound train, exit, and wait for the North Springs train there.

Long-term MARTA Parking

Medical Center MARTA Station

The Medical Center MARTA station is located at 5711 Peachtree Dunwoody Road, next to Northside Hospital, Scottish Rite Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital (see map).  There are two hotels nearby, the Courtyard Atlanta Glenridge and Westin Atlanta Perimeter North Hotel.

Directions
The Medical Center station is on the red line, so you must be on a northbound train marked “North Springs” to get to this station if you are coming from the south, such as the airport or downtown.  If you are coming from Doraville, Chamblee, Brookhaven or Lenox, go south to Lindbergh Center, exit the train and wait for a North Springs train at that station.  Or, if coming from the east-west rail line, exit at Five Points and follow the signs to the Northbound platform and wait for a North Springs train.  Via car, this station is off I-285 at exit 26 Glenridge Drive (eastbound only) or exit 28 Peachtree Dunwoody Road (westbound only).  From Georgia 400, it is exit 3.

Avondale MARTA Station

The Avondale MARTA station at 915 E. Ponce de Leon Avenue is near downtown Decatur on the blue rail line. It’s primarily a residential area, though a handful of restaurants and businesses are in walking distance.

If you are coming from the airport, downtown, midtown or otherwise on the red or gold line, you must take the train to the Five Points station and follow the signs to the eastbound platform. From there, board the train marked “Indian Creek” to get to the Avondale station.

Five Points MARTA Station

The Five Points MARTA station is in the center of downtown Atlanta at 30 Alabama Street. It has station entrances off of Alabama, Peachtree and Forsyth Streets (see area map). It is also the only station that has access to all rail lines.

The Buckhead MARTA Station is located on the red rail line at 3360 Peachtree Road next to Ga. 400. There’s easy access to shopping and dining as well as a 15-minute or less train ride to attractions in Midtown and downtown.

You must be on a red line train (labeled “North Springs” if coming from the south) to reach the Buckhead station. If traveling from the blue or green rail line, exit at Five Points and follow the signs to the northbound platform to get to a North Springs train.

Be advised that after 9 p.m., you can only get to a North Springs train at the Lindbergh Center station.

If you are coming from the north or south lines, you must exit at Five Points and follow the signs to the eastbound platform to catch the Indian Creek train. The Hamilton E. Holmes Station (or H.E. Holmes) is the last stop on the west, blue line at 70 Hamiliton E. Holmes Drive near I-20 and I-285 (see area map). It was originally called the Hightower Station, but was changed in honor of civil-rights hero Hamilton E. Holmes.

The Indian Creek MARTA station is the very end of the blue line at 3901 Durham Park Road, near I-285 on the east side of the city (see map).

The Midtown MARTA station is located at 41 10th Street between Peachtree and West Peachtree Street in the heart of Midtown Atlanta.

You must be on the red or gold rail line to get to the Midtown station. All trains leaving from the airport stop at Midtown and all southbound trains also stop at this station. Transfer to a northbound train at the Five Points station if your starting station is on the blue or green rail line.

The North Springs MARTA Station is at the very end of the red/north line at 7010 Peachtree Dunwoody Road, just outside I-285 and along GA 400.

To get to North Springs, you must be on a northbound train labeled “North Springs”. You can get on a North Springs train at any station from the Airport to Lindbergh Center, before 9 p.m. After 9 p.m. you must take the first available train (should be marked Doraville) to the Lindbergh Center MARTA station to transfer to a North Springs train. Passengers traveling from the blue or green rail line must also transfer to a northbound train at the Five Points station.
