MARTA to Whole Foods

Whole Foods offers organic and natural foods at several locations in Atlanta. However, none are in walking distance to a train station and require a bus commute.

  • The Whole Foods on Ponce de Leon Avenue is off bus 2 that departs from the North Avenue, Candler Park and Decatur Stations. Exit the bus at Ponce City Market – the large brick building.
  • For the Buckhead location on West Paces Ferry Road near Peachtree Road, board bus 110 at the Buckhead or Lenox Station and head southbound or get on a northbound bus at the Arts Center Station.
  • The third store is at the intersection of Briarcliff and Lavista Roads. Choose from two bus routes: bus 16 departs Five Points and Loehmans Plaza and travels through the Highlands or use bus 30 from the Lindbergh Station or Northlake Mall.

MARTA to Trader Joe’s

There are two Trader Joe’s grocery stores close to MARTA.  Choose from either the Midtown or Buckhead location:

  • Exit at the Midtown Station on the red/gold rail line, take the 10th Street exit out of the station and turn right.  Walk about four blocks to Monroe Drive and turn right.  You can also board bus 99 or bus 36 from the Midtown Station – there are bus stops out in front of the store.
  • Exit at the Buckhead Station on the red rail line and take the first set of stairs out of the station to street level.  Wait there for bus 110, or turn right and walk about 15 minutes.  Trader Joe’s is on Peachtree Road, after the intersection with Piedmont Avenue, across from a large church.

MARTA to the Sweet Auburn Market

The Sweet Auburn Curb Market is located in downtown Atlanta near Grady Hospital.   It contains a variety of restaurants and food markets where you can buy produce and other goods.

The closest MARTA station is the Georgia State Station on the blue/green rail line.  Take the Jesse Hill Jr. exit out of the station and turn left and walk about three blocks to Edgewood Avenue.  The market will be on the corner (see area map).

If you rather not walk, there are two bus options:

  • Bus 99 departs from the Georgia State Station – exit at Auburn and Jesse Hill Jr. and walk south one block to Edgewood Avenue.
  • Bus 3 departs from Five Points and the Candler Park Station.  Also exit at Jesse Hill Jr. and Auburn Avenue. In both cases, look for the Big Bethel “Jesus Saves” church as a landmark for Jesse Hill Jr. Drive.

Market hours are Monday – Saturday 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
