One of Atlanta’s music venues, the Tabernacle is located downtown near the Peachtree Center Station (see area map). When exiting the station, be sure to take the center set of stairs/escalators that point to Harris Street. After going through the fare gate, follow the signs to Peachtree Street West.
At street level keep to the right along Peachtree Road before turning right onto Andrew Young International (Hard Rock Cafe will be diagonally across the street).
At Spring Street turn left, then turn right onto Luckie Street just after you walk by Ted’s Montana Grill. The Tabernacle is less than a block down on the left.
You can also exit at the W1 Station, following Centennial Park Drive north along the park before turning right onto Luckie. The walk takes about 11 minutes.

While MARTA does not extend into Gwinnett, you can connect to the Gwinnett County Transit System from the Doraville Station. As the last stop on the MARTA yellow line, the Doraville Station provides access to GCT Route 10 that travels up Buford Highway through Norcross, ending at the Gwinnett Transfer Center/Gwinnett Place Mall. The transfer center allows connections between all five local GCT routes and seven express routes.
There is also GRTA Express Route 410 that goes directly from the Lindbergh Station to Discovery Mills. And GRTA Express Route 412 goes to Discovery Mills from the Civic Center and Arts Center Stations in addition to several other midtown stops in between.
GRTA Express is $3 one way or $5 roundtrip. GCT rates vary by route, from $2-$4. Transfers to/from MARTA are free and you can use your Breeze Card for Route 10.

Yes, you can take MARTA to Cumberland Mall and also have somewhat of a close access to the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. It is an easy commute, though a long one.
Take MARTA to the Midtown Station and transfer to bus 12. After traveling through the west side and parts of Buckhead/Collier Hills, the bus ends at Cumberland Mall. You can also take the Cobb Community Transit (CCT) bus 10 from the Arts Center Station.
The buses end up at a transfer center behind Cumberland Mall on Cumberland Blvd. See the area map for information on the proximity to the Cobb Galleria.

You can exit at either the North Avenue or Midtown stations to get to Georgia Tech.
At North Avenue you’ll want to exit at the North Avenue station, following the signs to North Avenue/West Peachtree Street and avoiding the exits pointing to the Fox Theatre. Walk about five minutes west on North Avenue, crossing over the connector and you’ll reach Bobby Dodd Stadium and further down the Cherry Street entrance to the campus as well as the Student Center (which is a longer hike).
A bit easier option is to exit at Midtown and take one of the Tech Trolleys to campus. The shuttle picks up at the Peachtree Place station exit and goes down 5th Street and ends near the Ferst Center and the gym. Bus routes 12 and 37 also depart from the Midtown station and travel down 10th Street at the northern edge of the Tech campus.
See the campus map to help you plan your trip.

Perimeter Mall is one of the easiest destinations to get to on MARTA. The mall sits right next to the Dunwoody station and is just a short walk away. To get there, take the North Springs/Red Line train to Dunwoody. After exiting the station’s turnstiles, turn right and follow the pathway to another set of stairs that go down to street level. Turn right and follow the crosswalk and sidewalk through the parking garage and you’ll end up at the mall entrance.

The Atlanta Greyhound Bus Station (see map) is right next to the Garnett MARTA station. Garnett is one stop south of Five Points on the north-south rail line. To be honest, it is a little sketchy, especially after dark. So I wouldn’t recommend coming into the city after dark nor leaving very late at night.
You can buy your Greyhound tickets online to save any waiting at the station. Passengers are asked to be there 20 minutes before departure.

To get to the Georgia Dome, you’ll want to exit at the W1 Dome/GWCC/Phillips Arena stop OR the W2 Vine City. The Vine City stop will have less traffic and put you more easily on street level without all the underground climbing at the W1 stop.
If you are coming from the north or south lines, you will have to transfer at Five Points. This is where it can get tricky. Make sure you follow signs to the WESTBOUND platform. Many times I have seen people go up a stairway or escalator that is to the eastbound platform, and there is no way to get to the train you need that way. Generally, it is usually better to exit to the outside (not center) platform. When in doubt, just follow the signs as there are plenty that can direct you to the westbound train.
Once you get to W1, merely follow the signs pointing to the Georgia Dome (which has its own exit separate from Philips Arena). Or if you get off at W2, Vine City, merely walk down Rhodes Street when you exit the station (see map). You can’t miss seeing the Dome.

For Tech fans, getting to the Bobby Dodd Stadium on MARTA is fairly convenient. You’ll want to exit at the North Avenue Station, following the signs to North Avenue/West Peachtree Street and avoiding the exits pointing to the Fox Theatre. Walk about five minutes west on North Avenue, crossing over the connector. The stadium will be on your right (see map).

Over Labor Day weekend, Atlanta will be hosting the science fiction Dragon*Con conference downtown. A full- costumed parade starts 10am, Saturday the 5th. It is your chance to see storm troopers and trekkies take the streets and any and all other science fiction characters. Many other events take place over the weekend at Peachtree Center Hotels.
The parade travels up Peachtree Street, starting at Auburn Avenue. Take MARTA to the Peachtree Center station and take any exit out of the station. Most of the exits will put you right on Peachtree Street, including the exits pointing to Peachtree Center Mall and the public library. The library exit at the south end of the station will take you up to the start of the parade and also has an elevator, which can be a relief from those tall escalators.

Zoo Atlanta is no short stroll from the closet MARTA station, but if you are up for urban exploring or exercise, it is about a 30 minute walk, which you can also break up with brunch, lunch, dinner or drinks.
The closest MARTA station to the zoo is King Memorial. The station sits at the corner of Decatur Street and Hillard Avenue. Make a left onto Hillard heading southbound. Hillard will turn turn into Grant Street as you approach the first stoplight, which is Memorial Avenue. Cross over the street before turning left onto Memorial. Here you will find several restaurants, including a good brunch spot, Ria’s Bluebird.
Turn right at Ria’s Bluebird onto Cherokee Avenue. This street will take you over I-20 and runs alongside Grant Park. On the way you’ll go by Grant Central Pizza & Pasta and Dakota Blue, other eateries.
The zoo entrance is toward the southern end of the park. For other options, see bus routes to/from the Atlanta zoo.
